A Tangem Wallet is a card-shaped NFC hardware (cold) wallet that stores your cryptocurrency offline. About the size of a credit card, it keeps your private keys on a certified chip and connects to the free Tangem app when you tap it to your phone. It supports thousands of coins and tokens, never needs charging, and sets up in around 3 minutes.
Yes. Each Tangem chip creates a random private key offline that can never be exported or copied, and the device uses an EAL6+ certified chip made with Samsung Semiconductors — the same security grade as a biometric passport. An access code protects against brute-force attacks, and Tangem reports zero of more than 6,000,000 cards compromised since production began.
You can buy Tangem Wallets online at tangem.nz, the official New Zealand store, with fast local shipping and NZ-based support. Tangem hardware is imported and distributed locally by Cybotix Limited, and all prices are shown in NZD including GST.
Prices in New Zealand (NZD, incl. GST): the 2-Card Set is $109.99, the 3-Card Set is $139.99, the Family Pack with two wallets is $279.60, and the Tangem Ring with two cards is $320.00.
No — a seed phrase is optional. Tangem can generate and store your keys directly on the chip with nothing to write down or lose. If you prefer, you can still create an app-generated seed phrase or import an existing wallet. Hardware-generated keys stay offline and can't be duplicated like a traditional seed phrase.
Both sets act as identical backup keys to one wallet, like matching copies of the same key. A 3-card set adds extra recovery: if you lose one card, the other two still grant full access. With a 2-card set, losing one card and forgetting your access code could leave you unable to recover the wallet.
No. Your phone only acts as an interface and stores no sensitive data, so you can install the Tangem app on any compatible smartphone and tap your card or ring to regain access. Because each set includes backup cards, losing a single card won't lock you out, and Tangem's servers are never involved.
Tangem supports thousands of coins and tokens across major blockchains, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Through the app you can buy, sell, swap, and stake crypto, track live prices, and pay using cards, bank transfer, Apple Pay, or Google Pay via integrated third-party providers.
The Tangem Ring is a wearable hardware wallet that works just like a Tangem card — tap it to your phone to access your crypto. In New Zealand it's sold as a set with the ring plus two backup cards for $320.00 NZD (incl. GST), giving you a discreet, always-on way to manage your assets.
With proper care, a Tangem Wallet is built to last at least 25 years and is backed by a 25+ year warranty. Its solid, monolithic design has no battery or moving parts to fail and resists water, dust, extreme temperatures, X-rays, and electromagnetic interference.
